Global Gaming appoints new CEO

Online gaming company Global Gaming has announced the appointment of Tobias Fagerlund as its CEO and President with immediate effect from today, 2 July.

Mr Fagerlund had been serving as the operator’s Acting CEO since April, when he replaced Joacim Moller.

This news came just two weeks after one of Global Gaming’s subsidiaries, SafeEnt Limited, saw its operating license revoked by the Swedish Gambling Authority and was subsequently ordered to halt operations in the Scandinavian country due to multiple violations of the country’s gambling law.

Spelinspektionen, the Swedish gambling regulator, yanked Global Gaming’s license for poor anti-money laundering controls and KYC processes as well as for multiple more violations of Sweden’s new rules. Their new gambling law came into effect on 1 January 2019 to open the local gambling space to international operators.

Prior to joining Global Gaming, Mr Fagerlund served as the CEO of the Spiffx betting exchange. He continues to remain a member of its board and is also a partner in online casino content provider, Relax Gaming.
