Lord of the Rings Slot game to be launched
Casino News - 16th August 2010
The Lord of the Rings slots game is soon to be released. The online casino software provider, Microgaming, has announced that they will release the exciting new slots game at two of their online casinos within the next few weeks.
The slots game is part of a multi-year licensing agreement that Microgaming signed with Warner Bros Digital Distribution in 2009.
The license gives Microgaming the right to use animation material, themes and characters from the popular film trilogy. It will combine the three films – The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King – into one slot game.
The new slots game will be the first to use Microgaming's new Cinematic Spins technology. It will use the launch of the slots game to introduce its proprietary gaming technology. The technology allows players to see movie clips as moving backgrounds behind the reels as they spin. Cinematic clips will also be used for win sequences and expanding wilds.
Roger Raatgever, CEO for Microgaming stated: "This game really does push the boundaries of what an online slot can do. The Fellowship of the Ring looks and feels like an extension of the big screen film experience and we're confident that our operators will see a great deal of demand from their players."
He continued that "This was an important deal for Microgaming and highlights our commitment to partner with the right brands, at the right time." He claimed that "The Lord of the Rings has a huge entrenched fan base with over 97% awareness of the film franchise, as well as phenomenal and unprecedented home video success."
The flagship branded video slots game, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring will be available at All Slots Casino and Ladbrokes Casino.
